If stored correctly and left unopened, dark chocolate can last up to 2 years from the day it was produced. If it has been opened but still appropriately stored, the general rule is one year. Regarding white and milk chocolate bars, the timescales are halved; One year if adequately stored unopened, and 6-8 months if opened but stored correctly.
